BUYING YOUR VILLA
There are two ways to buy your dream home in Thailand. One is by a Thai company, the second is by lease.
A foreigner is not allowed to buy land in their name; only a Thai national is allowed to do this. So the first is to set up a Thai company which will buy the land for you. This is a very simple and inexpensive process. Second way is by lease. This is for an initial period of 30 years followed by two more periods of 30 years, making 90 years in total. In both methods there will be a clause in your contract that will state if the law changes in your favour you will have the right to change it you so wish. In all cases we advise you to contact a lawyer. We recommend, Khun Somsak, a Thai lawyer who speaks perfect English.
